Well, I was never gonna take a crack at this topic, butt, I'm glad you did, Paul! It IS amazing how, over time, many (and there have to be more than the ones described here!) high-tech decisions/measurements are tried and true over time, and are as fitting today for our purposes as they were centuries ago for theirs!
