"[Los Angeles had an] electric railway system that was four times the size of the modern London underground. Known as the “Hollywood Subway,” the line opened in 1925; ran 4,325 feet underground, between downtown and the Westlake District; and closed in 1955."

It's widely believed in the conspiracy that the car, gas, and tire companies played a vital role in the destruction of the rail system (streetcars) in Los Angeles. The Guardian has a great article on this: https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2016/apr/25/story-cities-los-angeles-great-american-streetcar-scandal.

Who doesn't love a good scandal?

Another great collection of factoids, Paul! A Steve Lukather postscript: Last year, his lad, Trevor (or Trev) Lukather (36), formed a band, The Effect (yep, he plays guitar!), with Nic Collins (yep, Phil's boy...and, yep, on drums), keyboardist, Steve Maggiora (who's toured with Toto), and singer Emmett Stang.

They released the single, "Unwanted," last October. Here's the video: https://youtu.be/MUS9Zmcwl04

They sound pretty proficient, even though they’re not really my cup o’ tea, sonically!

Such a high percentage of bots online! Damn things.

Meta should get its fingers out of the pie.

I was appalled to see that "...the legal voting age for ... Austria is 16 years ...." - humans don't even complete brain formation until our 20s - 18, formally - how do they expect these kids to make good choices?

Growing up in LA my dad told me it was the big tire companies who worked to kill the LA streetcars that went everywhere. I think it's also part of the plot of Who Framed Roger Rabbit
