For content creatives in 2022
Your Browser as a Note Pad
This is an example of a focused writing window in a Chrome browser window.
Put the following code snippet into the address bar of a new tab:
data:text/html, <center><br><br><textarea style="font-size: 1.5em; width: 70%; height: 90%; border: 2px; outline: none" autofocus />
Save it when you are done if you like it...if not just close the window. Just drag the url into your bookmark bar to have it available anytime. Even offline. Use it as a note pad. Be creative!
Hyperlink (jump to) a specific word in your Newsletter
If you want to share a link to a particular section in one of your Substack posts, do this:
Add
#:~:text=targetword
to the end (no spaces) of the url you want to link to.Where βBonusβ is my target word, see it in action: https://pau1.substack.com/p/how-to-make-your-newsletters-undeplatformable#:~:text=Bonus
(Sometimes you have to eliminate everything after and including the ? within the URL)
It will link to the first instance of the targetword, so make sure it is the first targetword on that page.

Did You Know?
The new built in Edge browser for Windows has a really decent screen reader built in. Text to Speech software.
I've been copying my draft URL, then letting the browser read the post. Great for catching mistakes. Others have used Google translate option for this as well, by just pasting your post into the translate box and getting it read to you as well.
Thanks to all of my subscribers! If you liked this, consider sharing it. And liking it. And commenting. OK, sorry. Iβm kinda demanding, eh?
Peace in Ukraine!
