Martin was released from prison on Wednesday, May 19, 2022 - after serving most of his seven-year sentence for lying to hedge fund investors and defrauding drug company investors.
He was transferred to a BOP halfway house after completing all programs that allowed for his prison sentence to be shortened. He served slightly more than four years into his sentence because he completed education and rehabilitation programs while in prison.

The former Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO first made headlines after his company increased the price of Aids drug Daraprim from $13.50 to $750. per pill.

Shkreli is serving seven years in prison from a 2017 conviction for securities fraud. He was also fined $7.3 million.
I used to watch Martin live streaming his humble looking life from his New York apartment. He was socially awkward and nerdy, but he was slick and smart.
He seemed to really love his Albanian immigrant parents and spoke fondly about his childhood with them, his 2 sisters, and his brother.
The YouTube videos showed a steady stream of hateful comments, balanced by friendly fans.
He spent a lot of hours doing these live streams, talking about how tough he was, how rich he was, how smart he was.
Do you remember that he bought the sole copy of the Wu-Tang Clan’s double album ‘Once Upon A Time In Shaolin’ in 2015. He paid $2 million for the record.
He said he would release the record as a free download if Donald Trump won the election. When Trump won, Shkreli shared the intro and one track.
Martin enjoyed teaching. His online lessons have been removed from the internet.
