Pretty dang fascinating, Paul, although only to a certain extent, as with most people! It IS amazing how quickly it spread from the first one I ever saw (I wish I could remember where/when/for whom I saw my first)! I'm old enough to remember when UPC codes first showed up on LP jackets/tape cases, and 45s! The furor was fast in the rock press, whining how the jackets' artwork would be besmirched with the addition of the postage-stamp-sized box! Little did we know that "jacket art" as a thing would essentially disappear, anyway, a couple dozen years afterwards!
At the risk of the scourge of shameless self-promotion, Paul, fellow 'Stackers may want to see how a QR code (I have one on the back of my 'Stack biz card, too!) can be used on one's 'Stack page! If I may:
Fascinating! I've never actually stopped to think too hard about what "QR" stood for, alas now I know :)
