🦷 Whitens and Rebuilds Your Tooth Enamel
Before too long, you may be able to buy a breath mint that rebuilds your tooth enamel while it whitens your teeth, thanks to a team of University of Washington researchers.
The team is preparing to launch clinical trials of a lozenge that contains a genetically engineered peptide, or chain of amino acids, along with phosphorus and calcium ions, which are building blocks of tooth enamel. The peptide is derived from amelogenin, the key protein in the formation of tooth enamel, the tooth’s crown. It is also key to the formation of cementum, which makes up the surface of the tooth root.
Each lozenge deposits several micrometers of new enamel on the teeth via the peptide, which is engineered to bind to the damaged enamel to repair it while not affecting the mouth’s soft tissue. The new layer also integrates with dentin, the living tissue underneath the tooth’s surface. Two lozenges a day can rebuild enamel, while one a day can maintain a healthy layer. HYPERBELL works with almost all regular and adjustable dumbbells. From rubber hex dumbbells to Bowflex SelectTech, and everything in between, the foam inside the clamp is designed to adapt and cushion for the perfect fit. However, there are some limitations. The dumbbell handle width needs to be at least 4.5" wide for HYPERBELL to fit. Most dumbbell handles are approximately 6.0" wide. Some very light dumbbells may be less than 4.5" wide. The dumbbell handle needs to be less than 1.5" at its thickest point. HyperBell does not work for PowerBlock. The foam insert inside the HYPERBELL will contour to both straight and curved dumbbell handles.

Developed by a lab at Purdue University in Indiana, USA, it is now listed as the ‘Whitest Paint in the World’, by Guinness World Records
"Yes, the paint is intended to be used on roofs, including roofing shingles and metal roofs," Ruan, a professor at the University, said. "It can be used on other infrastructures where commercial paints are used."
The paint should be a boon in both cool climates as well as warm climates, he added.
"From a standpoint of saving energy, it will be more useful in warm climates since cooling is needed more. On the other hand, to help reverse the global warming trend, it can be used in both warm and cold climates.
